When I was younger, I didn’t understand why some men would dress as women. I didn’t understand why I was gay. I didn’t understand a lot of things.
My sexuality caused me a lot of pain.
Only after I accepted who I was did things get better. But by then, I had made a lot of poor decisions and sadness has always been an unwelcome shadow that blocked the light out of my life.
Even today, I still catch myself drifting into the abyss of looking at what could be on the other side, and whether will that make all the sadness go away.
I will soon be 54.
