Long like the King, King Charles coronation
Dall-E creation

King Charles III, it’s done. Newly minted King of England after his coronation.

For someone who’s from that generation who only knew Queen Elizabeth II as the Queen of England, I never thought this day would come.

From Charles as the Prince of Wales to his fairy tale romance with Princess Diana and to its bitter ending. With the scandals and the death of the beloved princess, there were talks that Charles would never be King.

It goes to show we can never foretell the future.

And I always felt that the Queen would live forever.

Her majesty didn’t live forever, she died after she lost her prince, at a time when the world had suffered from the pandemic, and the future of the UK hung in the balance.

But in her dying days, one thing was sure then Prince Charles would succeed her.

It isn’t for me to say if the monarchy had lost its charm and if at all it would survive the world we live in today.
